Texas passed a new law that requires small businesses like ours to register with the state just to send text messages — with a $200 filing fee (with loads of paperwork), a $10,000 security deposit, an additional $200 per year, and hefty penalties per violation.
Let me be blunt:
That’s just not something a business like Forged Flare® can afford to mess with.
We’re a small team. We handcraft every ornament ourselves. We don’t have a legal department or thousands to burn on red tape. This law might have been aimed at stopping spammy text chains and shady operations, but instead, it’s punishing makers and artists like us who are just trying to stay in touch with the people who care.
So, as of September 1, we’re saying goodbye to text messaging, and we’re shutting text messages down completely.
Want to Stay in the Loop?
We’d still love to stay connected with you — we just have to do it a different way now.
If you want to be the first to hear about new designs, surprise releases, and behind-the-scenes updates, sign up for our newsletter in the form below.
We’re not going anywhere — but we’re not paying $200/year and risking five-figure fines just to send a friendly “hey, here’s a new Mother’s Angels ornament” text.
Thanks for understanding — and for continuing to support small, handmade businesses. We literally couldn’t do this without you.
