Intro by Jen Street, Founder of Forged Flare

In the past, we've had the privilege of collaborating with Alonda Baird-Juhasz, who graciously captured several professional photos for our business. While my husband Chris and I handle the majority of our photography ourselves, Alonda played a key role in our journey.

Our initial encounter with Alonda took place when I participated in my first business course, Creative Hive's A Sale A Day by Mei Pak. Alonda, a mentor within the group, kindly offered her photography skills to create a stunning set of images for our products. These became our very first professionally taken photos.

As time went on, you might have come across some of our captivating lifestyle images featuring mothers and daughters. These, too, were the result of Alonda's talent, and they were produced in 2022. Alonda is not only a charismatic soul but also an incredibly skilled photographer, and we absolutely cherish the opportunity to collaborate with her. It's for this reason that we've chosen to showcase her beautiful work in our very first featured small business.

Meet Alonda

I have always been a multi-passionate creative so I've evolved through several iterations of ventures and projects. I used to consider myself the "flighty creative" with one foot already out the door and onto the next project but I think the reality is that I just need to try on experiences to see how they fit.

Becoming a photographer was a long time coming for me. I exited the corporate world in 2013 after quickly realizing that just was not for me. I started as a maker selling colorful painted homewares and design consulting on the side. Design consulting was mainly a general title that allowed me the flexibility to try out several different types of projects. This led me to become a prop stylist working on art installations, wedding editorials, and branded product photoshoots and I loved it.

When I finally stepped behind the camera myself I was hooked. Combining my love of constructing imagery and then capturing it was the right fit. In doing this I was able to meet so many amazing makers and artists who trusted me with their brand vision.

In 2020, alongside so many others, I had to evolve my business once again to adapt to the new way of life. This steered me to focus on my own home and flex my creativity there. I became an avid DIYer updating my home room by room and sharing the triumphs (and the struggles) online.

It provided the creative outlet I needed and made me fall in love with my space. Now I continue to work with brands creating imagery and capturing it as content from such a personal space. It is the perfect fusion of every venture and project to date. I still get to work with amazing brands and connect with fabulous makers to create content from the most authentic space, my own home.
